X-MEN #99: MARVEL COMICS GROUP
About
X-Men issue #99, published March 16, 1976 — this was my introduction into the world of comic books. Wrinkled, with torn pages, I was enraptured by its artistry and storytelling.
Growing into my early teen years, my brother and I would frequent our local 7-11 convenient store for the monthly releases of numerous titles including
, The Amazing Spider-Man, Detective Comics, and so much more; it was pure joy.The love for this art form seeded the desire into a child that has yet develop the ability to manifest this dream into reality.
Then life happened. Each day, moving forward, distancing what was one’s longings. Into the night it slept.
Decades past and I am struck with the question, “What now? What do I want, what do I need, to do, now?”
Then I remember that child and … that obscure object of desire.
